The inventory check-out is a walk-through inspection comparing the property's current condition to the check-in inventory report. Preparing properly makes the process smoother for tenants, landlords and letting agents alike.

Before the inspection

• Remove all belongings and rubbish from the property
• Book the end-of-tenancy clean once the property is empty
• Check meter readings and note them down
• Compare the property visually against your check-in report or photos
• Report any pre-existing damage that wasn't logged at check-in

What inspectors typically check

Cleanliness of kitchens and bathrooms, condition of carpets and floors, cupboard interiors, appliance condition, walls and fixtures, and whether all agreed items remain in the property.
